Maggie Ellias, LCSW

Hello my name is Maggie Ellias and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I attended the University of Arizona for my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies and graduated in 1995. I attended Bryn Mawr College's graduate program for my MSS, Master's in Social Service, and completed it in 1997. I have worked in a variety of settings for over 27 years and have specialized skills working with children, adolescents, and young adults as well as the LGBTQIA+ community. I have lived and worked in several different states, and am now returning to my home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

I have experience in work with homeless youth, Jewish Family and Children's Services, Partial Hospitalization Programs, School settings, Private practice, and most recently as a Behavioral Health Consultant in a primary care office. In this variety of settings, I am skilled and knowledgeable in working with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Gender Identity Disorder, and Issues of sexual Identity. I am particularly adept at working with family dynamics, life stressors, and other mental health concerns.

I have developed my own unique style as a clinician, utilizing cognitive-behavioral techniques, a client-centered approach, as well as a strengths-based approach by empowering clients and their families to believe in their abilities rather than focusing on their deficits. I believe the journey of a therapeutic relationship should be a collaboration and a pathway of personal growth through overcoming challenges and striving toward goals in life.
