DAVIDA BOLGER, LPC

Davida Bolger

I have provided psychotherapy in various settings including community mental health, private practice, schools, and faith-based settings. Additionally, I have been a drug and alcohol counselor in residential and outpatient programs. I have a master’s degree in Psychological Services from the University of Pennsylvania, a Certification in Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counseling, as well as post-graduate training in Christian Counseling.

I enjoy working with adults, children, and adolescents as individuals, couples, and families. As a clinician, I have treated people suffering from a variety of disorders such as depression, bipolar and substance use disorders, ADHD, self-harming behaviors, grief, and issues related to adult children of emotionally immature parents.

My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, strength-based, person-centered, holistic, and culturally competent. I draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Restructuring, Dialectical Behavior, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive, Solution-Focused, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Integration, and Motivational Interviewing. I am always mindful of what type of treatment will be most effective for the individual and their individual challenges.

I find tremendous value in forming a therapeutic relationship with my clients, as the first step in the therapeutic process. Developing trust and respect with each other creates a safe, empathic, non-judgmental atmosphere for building rapport. Collaborating with clients to establish their individual goals in therapy, is very important.

I delight in seeing clients transform, and emerge as butterflies, equipped with wings to soar and reach their full potential.
